The Frederick Heights Neighborhood Park is close by! With a plan well underway, the park area consists of 11 acres which comprises the entirety of Frederick Heights Park. With a vast expanse of open, rolling fields, its existing amenities include a playground and half-court basketball.
Frederick County continues to invite comments to determine the final plan outcome, check it out here: Frederick Heights Neighborhood Park Plan.
Frederick County Parks and Recreation maintains the 11-acre parcel to include regular mowing and ongoing maintenance of the playground and basketball court. In order to increase the public use and dramatically improve the community value of the park, an initial vision of potential improvements has been developed. Walking trails are identified as the #1 need for Frederick County residents. In that respect, the primary proposed new amenity is a 1/2-mile shared use path. The path would include access to the existing amenities while continuing in a loop to take advantage of the majority of this gorgeous park setting.
